Region 6 Launches Job-Alike Affinity Groups for

Principals and Co-Administrators

The two largest groups of ACSA members are principals and co-administrators, not to mention that most of the remaining certificated members have been site administrators at one time. These leaders hold an immensely critical role in our schools. Region 6 is committed to providing the best resources to support them to be successful in their current role as they continue to advance in their leadership journey.

We are launching two job-alike affinity groups organized as “mini academies” to serve our new or experienced principals and co-administrators who may aspire to be principals. We have enlisted 2 outstanding facilitators who have been principals, workshop/conference presenters, mentors, coaches, college faculty, authors. Both of them recently published new books on leadership.

The two affinity groups will be meeting 5 times during the 2024-25 school year from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in a combination of in-person and virtual settings. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from an expert and each other. They will have time to connect and collaborate with peers. The setting will provide a safe space to share and support one another. The overarching goal of these affinity groups is to develop a community of school site leaders who build comraderie and provide mutual support.

The groups will meet from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on each of the following dates:

  • November 7 (in person)
  • January 23 (in person)
  • February 20 (virtual)
  • March 11 (virtual)
  • April 1 (in person)

We are still finalizing locations of the in person sessions. Our plan is to locate them in sites that will be easily accessible to our region’s members. Refreshments will be provided.

ACSA members will have priority to this free PD activity and receive a copy of the book used in each mini academy. A certificate of completion will be awarded upon completion of all sessions. Limited enrollment and first come basis.
