Travis Brown is beginning his second year as superintendent/principal of Buena Vista Elementary, a small rural school in Tulare. He recently assumed the role of Small Schools Districts’ Association (SSDA) President for Tulare County, which has more small school districts than any other county in California. Travis shared that the Tulare County SSDA Chapter is focused on supporting and elevating the work of small school district leaders. Its goals include:

  • Maintaining a strong, proactive partnership with the Tulare County Office of Education
  • Creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration and connection among small school superintendents
  • Advocating for equitable policies and resources that reflect the unique needs of small districts
  • Supporting the county’s newest small school superintendents
“The chapter remains committed to strengthening the voice and impact of small schools across Tulare County,” Travis said.
