On September 25th, the Golf Club of Copper Valley hosted Region 7’s first General Membership Assembly (GMA) of the year, a pivotal event that convenes educational leaders and stakeholders from across the region.
This year’s assembly featured guest speaker Iván Carrillo, Senior Director of State and Federal Governmental Relations for State ACSA. Mr. Carrillo provided an insightful update on the current governmental landscape in Sacramento, detailing various assembly and senate bills that could impact education in our region. His extensive knowledge and experience enriched the discussion, helping attendees understand the implications of these legislative developments.
The GMA serves as a vital forum held three times a year, bringing together a diverse group of participants, including Region Officers, Region Directors, Charter Presidents, State Board Member, Region Consultant, ACSA representatives, and members. This year’s assembly emphasized the importance of collaboration, as members shared valuable insights on pressing issues and major policy matters.
Attendees took advantage of this opportunity to network with region leadership, fostering connections that are essential for the advancement of educational initiatives. Participants also engaged in discussions about the work of various councils, committees, and task forces, ensuring that diverse perspectives were represented in the conversations.
The General Membership Assembly not only promotes professional development but also strengthens the bonds within our educational community. As we move forward, the insights and connections made during this assembly will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in Region 7.
We look forward to our next gathering and encourage all members and interested guests to join us in our continued commitment to educational excellence and advocacy.
