Region 7 was proudly and powerfully represented at the recent Classified Educational Leaders (CEL) Institute in Burlingame. The Institute brought together leaders in business and fiscal services, human resources, maintenance and operations, custodial services, technology, facilities, and student services/instructional support — including confidential and administrative assistants — for meaningful collaboration and professional growth.
Designed specifically for classified leaders, the CEL Institute provided a valuable opportunity to connect, share best practices, and explore current issues and trends impacting schools across California. Expert presenters from a variety of fields offered practical strategies and effective techniques to strengthen systems and better serve students. The message was clear: the success of our schools is inseparable from the leadership, expertise, and dedication of our classified staff.
We are especially proud to celebrate Marilyn Croft, our Region 7 representative to the Classified Educational Leaders Council, who was elected President of the State CEL Council. Marilyn will begin leading the council next year, and we know she will represent Region 7 with the same commitment and excellence she demonstrates every day.
Congratulations to all of our Region 7 classified leaders for your dedication to excellence and for continuing to elevate the vital role of classified leadership in education.
