On October 16th, the DoubleTree in Modesto was buzzing with excitement as the Annual Fall CEL Dinner broke all attendance records, welcoming an incredible crowd of 960 school administrators and classified staff. This unique event, a highlight of the educational calendar in California, celebrated the vital contributions of classified staff—the backbone of our education system—for their unwavering hard work and dedication throughout the year.
The evening was filled with energy and enthusiasm, particularly during the district shout outs, where various districts showcased their spirit with colorful decorations, pompoms, and noise makers. It was a true testament to the camaraderie and pride within our educational community.
Our guest speaker, Mack Dryden, inspired attendees with his engaging remarks, adding to the night’s celebratory atmosphere. The dinner also provided ample opportunities for networking, allowing colleagues to connect and share experiences in a vibrant setting. Attendees enjoyed the fun of a photo booth, capturing memorable moments with coworkers.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the CEL Dinner Planning Committee: Velma Silva, Marilyn Croft, Roberta Cheney, Shari Rocha-Fraga, Monica Sanchez Lopez, Claudia Vicino, and Mary Ann Sanders. Their hard work and dedication made this record-breaking evening possible.
Mark your calendars for next year’s CEL Dinner, scheduled for October 15, 2025. The planning committee is currently in negotiations with a motivational speaker to make the next event even more memorable. We look forward to seeing you there for another night of celebration and connection!
