ACSA Stanislaus Hosts Inspiring February PDP Meeting

ACSA Stanislaus held its monthly Professional Development Program (PDP) meeting on February 11th at Huckleberry’s in Modesto, drawing the largest crowd of the year. More than 45 members packed the room, with additional attendees seated just outside—an exciting testament to the strong interest in professional learning and leadership growth.

The featured guest speaker was Scott Borba, Superintendent/Principal of Le Grand Union Elementary School District, who shared insights from his recently published book, The Leader You’re Not…And Why It’s Just As Important As The Leader You Are. Borba challenged traditional strength-based leadership models by encouraging leaders to embrace humility, self-awareness, and vulnerability. He emphasized that true growth comes from acknowledging blind spots, limits, and weaknesses rather than ignoring them.

Borba’s book is now available on Amazon, and members will have another opportunity to hear from him when he presents at the ACSA Region 7 Annual Spring Conference this May
