We are proud to recognize Christina Ballantyne, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Sunnyvale School District, as our ACSA Region 8 April Member Feature.

Dr. Ballantyne is a dynamic and deeply respected instructional leader whose work continues to strengthen teaching and learning across her district. With a strong foundation in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, she partners closely with principals—serving as both a mentor and thought partner—to support the development of strong, student-centered instructional leadership.

Her leadership extends beyond systems and strategy. Christina played a key role in leading the transition to the new Sunnyvale Charter, including recruiting and supporting new members, ensuring a thoughtful and inclusive process grounded in collaboration and shared purpose. Her ability to build trust, listen deeply, and move work forward with intention reflects the very essence of impactful leadership.

A recognized leader beyond her district, Dr. Ballantyne has also been honored through the prestigious Fulbright Program, where she was selected among a small group of educational leaders nationwide to engage in global collaboration and learning—further reflecting her commitment to innovation and continuous growth.
