New Resource for Educators Accommodating Transgender Students On May 13, 2016, the United States Departments of Education and Justice released a letter to all school districts in the country regarding accommodations for transgender students. As you know, in 2014 legislation passed in California requiring schools to make appropriate accommodations for transgender students.
As a result of the release of the letter, there has been a renewed interest from parents and educators. Gender Spectrum just released a new resource for school leaders and parents. Attached is a link to the Transgender Students and School Bathrooms: Frequently Asked Questions. This is a wonderful resource especially for site leaders who are confronted by parents wanting more information.
