2026-27 Region 8 President Juan Cruz<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dear ACSA Region 8 Members,<\/p>\n As we begin a new year together, I am honored to serve as your ACSA Region 8 President. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and, more importantly, about the opportunity to continue building a region where educational leaders feel connected, supported, and inspired.<\/p>\n Our theme for this year is Strong Minds, Steady Steps.<\/strong><\/p>\n Education leadership has never been easy, and today\u2019s challenges require us to lead with both strength and compassion. We are navigating changing expectations, financial pressures, staffing challenges, student needs, and an increasingly complex educational environment. Through it all, our responsibility remains the same: to create the conditions in which students, staff, and communities can thrive.<\/p>\n Strong Minds <\/strong>reminds us that leadership begins with our own well-being. We cannot consistently support others if we neglect ourselves. We must create spaces where it is okay to acknowledge the challenges of leadership, seek support, learn from one another, and prioritize wellness.<\/p>\n Steady Steps<\/strong> reminds us that meaningful change does not happen overnight. Leadership is a journey made up of intentional decisions, difficult conversations, small victories, and sometimes setbacks. We may not always be able to control the circumstances around us, but we can control how we respond. By taking purposeful and consistent steps forward, we can continue making a difference for the students and communities we serve.<\/p>\n As a Region 8 community, I hope we will commit to three things this year:<\/p>\n Connect.<\/strong> Care.<\/strong> Lead.<\/strong> This year, I want ACSA Region 8 to be more than a professional organization. I want it to be a community of support. \nLeadership can be isolating. Let us strengthen the relationships that remind us that we are not alone. I encourage you to reach out to a colleague, welcome a new administrator into ACSA, and take advantage of opportunities to learn from leaders across our region.<\/p>\n
\nLet us make wellness a leadership priority. We need to create cultures where taking care of ourselves and one another is valued. A healthy leader is better positioned to lead a healthy organization.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Let us continue to lead with courage, integrity, and purpose. Our schools and communities need leaders who are willing to listen, collaborate, make difficult decisions, and remain focused on what matters most\u2013our students.<\/p>\n
