{"id":1892,"date":"2023-02-06T12:30:38","date_gmt":"2023-02-06T12:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/regions.acsa.org\/7\/?p=1892"},"modified":"2023-02-06T19:46:46","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T19:46:46","slug":"rac-news-nov-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regions.acsa.org\/7\/rac-news-nov-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Retirement ACSA Charter (RAC) News, Feb. 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RETIRED (RAC) ADMINISTRATORS CHARTER<\/p>\n<p>By Barbara McCleskey<\/p>\n<p>RAC Region &amp; Charter President<\/p>\n<p>Barbara_mccleskey@comcast.net<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Greeting from \u201cRAC\u201d (Retired Administrators Charter).<\/p>\n<p>Our Charter has been busy since the last newsletter.\u00a0 At our November 1<sup>st<\/sup> meeting Gabe Soumakian, Adventure Du Jour Travel, gave a presentation on \u201cAdventures during your retirement\u201d.\u00a0 He is from southern California and arranges trips for retired educators.\u00a0 If you are interested in knowing more please go to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/retirededucators\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/retirededucators<\/a>\u201d for more information.<\/p>\n<p>At our December 6 meeting Lidia Parman from Golden Placement Services-Senior Housing and Transition Specialist, \u00a0presented on \u201cElderly Care.\u201d\u00a0 She assisted me when we needed to find a place for my mother when she became very ill.\u00a0 If you need further information you may contact her at 209-222-7138.<\/p>\n<p>On February 8th we held a social event at Yankee Hill Winery and Cooking class.\u00a0 The theme was \u201cTuscany Foods\u201d.\u00a0 Third time I have been there.\u00a0 A lot of fun!<\/p>\n<p>At our February 7<sup>th<\/sup> meeting revised By-Laws were adopted for our Retired Administrators Charter.\u00a0 If any other Retired Administrators Charter would like a copy of our by-laws, please let me know and I can email them to you.<\/p>\n<p>Following is our schedule for our upcoming meetings.\u00a0 You do not have to be a RAC member to attend so if there is a subject that is of interest to you \u2013just let me (Barbara McCleskey) know by texting me at 209-483-1808.\u00a0 Each individual pays for their own meal.\u00a0 We try to make it as simple as can be because you know that \u201cus retired people\u201d are busy.\u00a0 We have things to do and places to go!!!!!\u00a0 Business is conducted after the speaker\u2019s presentation.\u00a0 All meetings start at 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>February 7, 2023, Oakdale Golf and Country Club, Oakdale CA \u2013 Mark Kuhn, Hillview Funeral Chapel, \u201cFuneral Planning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>March 7, 2023, Burley\u2019s California Bistro, Modesto CA \u2013 Tim Zearley, Associate Superintendent of Business Services, Modesto City School \u2013 \u201c School Safety in the aftermath of the Uvalde Shooting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>April 4, 2023, Burley\u2019s California Bistro, Modesto CA &#8211; Julie Betschart, Deputy Superintendent, Stanislaus County Office of Education \u2013 \u201cCalifornia Budget for Education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>May 2, 2023, Oakdale Golf and Country Club, Oakdale CA \u2013 Jessica Rooper, Healthy Relationships Program Manager and Lupita Hernandez, HARRT Education \u2013 \u201cHuman Trafficking, Domestic Violence &amp; Sexual Assault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>May 5 \u2013 7 \u2013 Region 7 Spring Conference<\/p>\n<p>June 6, 2023, Oakdale Golf and Country Club, Oakdale CA \u2013 Craig Memmo \u2013 author of Children\u2019s Book and sixth grade teacher at Tuolumne Elementary speaking on his book \u201cDifference The Rainbow Zebra \u2013 An African Tale of Diversity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We always welcome new members!<\/p>\n<p>Wishing you all a pleasant upcoming Spring!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RETIRED (RAC) ADMINISTRATORS CHARTER By Barbara McCleskey RAC Region &amp; Charter President Barbara_mccleskey@comcast.net &nbsp; Greeting from \u201cRAC\u201d (Retired Administrators Charter).
