I am honored and humbled to serve as your Region 6 President this year. As I step into this role, I have been reflecting on the powerful legacy of leadership that I am inheriting. Our regional journey has been defined by a clear and connected progression of core leadership values. The past few years have been grounded in equity, empathy, courage and care, and resilience and celebration. Most recently, we built upon this foundation with the clarity and conviction of Empowered to Lead, Inspired by Heart, and United for Impact, led by our dynamic Past President Dr. Lorianne Ventura. I am deeply grateful to past presidents Dr. Tracie Tagamolila‑Noriega , Dr. Raul Zamora, Matt Chamberlain, and Dr. Lori Ventura for setting us on this inspirational path.

This year, I invite you into our next chapter: Invited and United to Lead. This theme is a natural next step—while we are already united in purpose, our work now requires greater intentionality in who we invite into the conversation and how we create space for every leader to contribute. Brené Brown reminds us that “Who we are is how we lead.” My goal for Region 6 this year is to invite every leader into our space, encouraging you to bring your authentic self so that we may lead in a truly united way. A connector at heart, I am eager to bring that spirit to our Region, and I extend to you an invitation to lead—in your local space and within our broader Region 6 community. Together, we can make a lasting difference for our students and families.

Humbly in your service,

Christina Filios Yiannakopoulos
2026-27 Region 6 President

Region 6 Past Presidents

2025-26 Lorianne Ventura
2024-25 Matt Chamberlain
2023-24 Raul Zamora
2022-23 Tracie Noriega
2021-22 Mark Neal
2020-21 Jacob Berg
2019-20 Pam VandeKamp
2018-19 Sonja Neely-Johnson
2017-18 Essence Phillips
2016-17 Steve Collins
2015-16 Janet Haun
2014-15 Rob Stockberger
2013-14 Linda Hutcherson
2012-13 Steven France
2011-12 Karen Sakata
2010-11 Teresa Kapellas
2009-10 Rose Lock
2008-09 Kale Alderson
2007-08 Marie McClaskey
2006-07 Belen Magers
2005-06 Jim Negri
2004-05 Evie Groch
2003-04 Joe Ovick
2002-03 Cyril Bonanno
2001-02 Peggy Green
2000-01 Cynthia Galbo

July 1, 2026 Dear ACSA Region 6 Colleagues, Welcome to 2026-27!
