It is a privilege to lead alongside such a passionate and dedicated community of educators. Each of you brings a depth of heart, courage, and vision to your work, and it is that spirit that inspires the theme for this year:

Empowered to Lead, Inspired by Heart, United for Impact

This theme is more than a guiding phrase, it is a culmination of the work we did together over the past few years. Including, Leading for Justice: A Work of Heart, grounding our leadership in equity and compassion. We deepened that commitment with Leading with Our Hearts, reaffirming that empathy is not an add-on, but a core leadership skill. We then leaned into Courageous Leadership: Leading with Heart and Mind, where bold decision-making met deep humanity. We often celebrate using Thriving as We Shine. It reminds us to celebrate our resilience and let our collective brilliance light the way.

Now, we arrive at a place where we are ready to lead, empowered by experience, inspired by the hearts of those we serve, and united in our shared purpose to make a lasting impact.

Our work as leaders continues to grow more complex. Budget challenges, evolving student needs, and systemic inequities all demand our best. In Region 6, we face these challenges together. We lean on each other, learn from one another, and lead with both strength and compassion.

This year, Region 6 is going to continue to provide meaningful opportunities for professional learning, connection, and advocacy. From our Mini Academies and networking events to our signature Conference and Awards Night, we are committed to elevating leaders and creating space for joy, growth, and inspiration.

To the outgoing 2024–2025 Executive Board, thank you for your steadfast leadership and service. And to the incoming 2025–2026 Board, I look forward to what we will accomplish together in the year ahead.

Let us move forward with purpose, empowered in our leadership, inspired by the heart of our profession, and united for impact. The road ahead is ours to shape, and I cannot wait to travel it with you.

In partnership and gratitude,

Lorianne R.
