Region 14 hosted our annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast on Friday, March 8th at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in Downey. The fabulous keynote speaker, Dr. Marilou Ryder, shared her road to a superintendency with our 120+ attendees while connecting the dots to both historical and current data on the state and status of women in educational leadership. Attendees received a copy of her book, Self Sabotage: Ten Personal Power Tips to Be Your Best Self on a Good Day, and Dr. Ryder walked our guests through the pitfalls of self-sabotage and steps to take to recognize and change those behaviors.

The 2022 ACSA Region 14 Women’s Leadership Breakfast was held on March 4, 2022 at 8-10 a.m, at the Dignity Health Sports Park. It included speakers Katie Pandolfo, General Manager of Dignity Health Sports Complex, and Rebecca Mieliwocki, Coordinator of K12 Teaching and Learning and 2012 California & National Teacher of the Year. The 2021 Women’s Leadership Breakfast was held virtually on Wednesday, January 20th, 7:30-9:30am. Dr. Ruth Perez, Superintendent of the Paramount Unified School District, presented “Grace Under COVID Fire.”

On January 29, 2020, ACSA Region 14 hosted a morning of professional learning and network opportunities. Attendees heard from Dr. Melissa Moore, Superintendent, El Segundo Unified School District. In 2018, Dr. Moore was selected Superintendent of the Year (ACSA, Region 14).
