Prisms VR is pioneering a new problem and student-centered instructional model for Secondary Math and Science powered by Virtual Reality. Backed by the NSF, NIH, and the Gates Foundation, Prisms is the first spatial learning platform for K-12 STEM education that teaches secondary math and science concepts spatially and intuitively, through first-person, embodied and tactile problem-solving environments, before building up to symbolic notation and higher levels of abstraction. Prisms replace a subset of key lessons within the core Tier 1 curriculum so that the foundational concepts and skills in every Math and Science class are learned through rich kinesthetic, structural sense-making before moving onto more traditional representations on paper / pencil and screens.

In a moment when student engagement is too often at rock bottom, math and science achievement has dramatically decreased, and teachers are feeling burned out and uninspired, Prisms introduces a pedagogically rigorous, relevant and joyful learning solution for Grade 7-11 Math and Science that’s demonstrated double digit growth outcomes on Algebra I benchmark assessment scores in the first Randomized Controlled Trial evaluation conducted by WestEd. The response so far from students and teachers is electric across multiple dimensions we’re tracking such as student engagement, achievement growth, and teacher/school partner retention. Prisms is rapidly growing just after its second year in schools with 300+ districts using Prisms across the 35 US states Fall 2024.

The PowerSchool ecosystem extends far beyond a traditional Student Information System (SIS) by offering a unified platform that is SIS agnostic and integrates within an interoperable ecosystem that touches every stakeholder/department in a district. This comprehensive suite includes learning management systems, assessment tools, talent solutions, and analytics, all designed to work seamlessly together. By centralizing these functions, PowerSchool helps districts streamline operations, reduce administrative burdens, and enhance data accuracy. This integration allows educators to access a holistic view of student performance and needs, facilitating personalized learning and targeted interventions.

Moreover, PowerSchool supports school districts in fostering better communication and collaboration among all stakeholders. Its platforms enable real-time updates and interactions between teachers, students, parents, and administrators, ensuring everyone is on the same page. Features like parent and student portals, mobile apps, and automated notifications keep the school community informed and engaged. Additionally, PowerSchool’s analytics capabilities provide deep insights into student data, helping districts make data-driven decisions to improve educational outcomes and operational efficiency. This interconnected ecosystem ultimately empowers districts to create a more cohesive and effective educational environment.
