Through our annual awards program we honor administrators and community members for their achievements and their dedication to public education. Each year, regions select their regional award winners, whose nominations are then submitted to state ACSA for consideration of the state award.<\/p>\n<h3>Awards Overview<\/h3>\n<p>2023 award information is now available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acsa.org\/awards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.acsa.org\/awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Each year ACSA recognizes a select group of\u00a0individuals for their significant contributions\u00a0to education through three prestigious\u00a0awards named in memory of past ACSA\u00a0leaders: <strong>Ferd. Kiesel Memorial\u00a0Distinguished Service Award, Marcus\u00a0Foster Memorial Award for\u00a0Administrator Excellence <\/strong>and the <strong>Robert\u00a0E. Kelly Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, members are honored for\u00a0outstanding performance and achievement\u00a0as <strong>Administrators of the Year<\/strong> in 21 job-alike\u00a0categories.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Valuing Diversity Award<\/strong> is given to\u00a0the member whose efforts to promote\u00a0diversity epitomize ACSA\u2019s mission\u00a0statement.<\/p>\n<p>Programs and businesses that collaborate\u00a0with administrators in support of education\u00a0are recognized though the <strong>Partners in\u00a0Educational Excellence Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>ACSA also recognizes the extraordinary\u00a0achievements of the students in each\u00a0year&#8217;s <strong>Every Student Succeeding\u00a0Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Administrator of the Year<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Deadline.<\/strong> <strong>All-region deadline is Jan. 19, 2023. <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acsa.org\/application\/files\/1016\/4917\/6366\/2023_Awards_Overview.pdf\">ACSA Award Overview<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/acsa.awardsplatform.com\/\">ACSA Award Nomination Portal<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Purpose. <\/strong>These awards recognize\u00a0outstanding performance and achievement\u00a0by individual administrators, classified\u00a0managers or confidential employees in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Superintendent<\/li>\n<li>Secondary Principal<\/li>\n<li>Middle Grades Principal<\/li>\n<li>Elementary Principal<\/li>\n<li>Central Office Administrator (District\/County)<\/li>\n<li>Elementary Co-Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Secondary Co-Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Classified Leader<\/li>\n<li>Confidential Employee<\/li>\n<li>Personnel\/Human Resources Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Adult Education Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Career Technical Education Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Special Education Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Superintendent\/Principal<\/li>\n<li>Business Services Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Pupil Personnel Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum and Instruction Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Continuation\/Educational Options Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Professor of Education<\/li>\n<li>Retired Administrator (volunteer service to ACSA)<\/li>\n<li>Technology Administrator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility. <\/strong>Recipients must be active ACSA\u00a0members who show strong support for the\u00a0school management team; exceptional\u00a0leadership in managing school programs;\u00a0commitment to educational quality and\u00a0student achievement; commitment to\u00a0professional growth; and creativity and\u00a0innovation in dealing with issues and\u00a0problems facing public education. Current\u00a0ACSA employees and ACSA board members\u00a0are not eligible to receive these awards.<\/p>\n<h3>Ferd Keisel Award<\/h3>\n<p>Purpose: The Ferd Kiesel Memorial Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor ACSA can present to an individual. The award is made in the memory of Ferd. Kiesel, ACSA\u2019s founding president.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Marcus Foster Memorial Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Purpose: This award recognizes outstanding leadership and significant contributions to education by a school administrator. It was established to honor the memory of Marcus Foster, former superintendent of the Oakland Unified School District.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Robert E. Kelly Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Purpose: This award is made in memory of Robert E. Kelly, former superintendent of Los Angeles Unified School District. Robert Kelly was instrumental in establishing the Los Angeles City Schools Bank of America Achievement Awards program in 1948. Since that time, the Bank of America Achievement Awards program has been replicated across the state.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Valuing Diversity<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Purpose: This award is given to an administrator who epitomizes ACSA\u2019s Mission Statement by his\/her efforts in promoting diversity and support for all of the children, parents and staff at their school or district.<\/p>\n<h3>Partners in Educational Excellence<\/h3>\n<p>Purpose: The Partners in Educational Excellence Award is given annually to exemplary school-community partnership programs that promote effective educational performance, enhanced student achievement and strong community involvement in educational quality.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acsa.awardsplatform.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Award Nomination Platform<\/a><br \/>\nA complete nomination should focus on\u00a0answering each criteria listed on the\u00a0nomination application, and should\u00a0discuss the strong qualities of each\u00a0nominee.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acsa.org\/download_file\/view\/147\/556\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acsa.org\/awards\">More Help &amp; Resources<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of ACSA\u2019s priorities is to ensure that school leaders are recognized for their excellence.
