ACSA Region VII believes in supporting its members and students by providing several opportunities to earn scholarships.  The Scholarship Committee consists of the President–Elects from each charter.  Scholarships will be awarded as follows:

Alex Winchester/Sue Richards Scholarship:

Objective:            Promote and encourage professional growth of members

:            $500.00 each (2 for CEL, 2 for State Summit, 3 for Region Conference)

:                CEL due September 2, 2011 / State Summit due September 30, 2011/Region Conference due March 2, 2012

Ken Brown/Francine Gasper Scholarship:

Objective:     Assist children of ACSA members to pursue post high school endeavors

:                 Senior (12th) grade students of ACSA members
Amount
:       $1,000.00 each (3 awarded per year)

:                March 2, 2012

: 2 letters of recommendation, essay, transcripts

Every Student Succeeding Award

Objective:            To honor students who have succeeded against all odds
For
:                 One nominated student from each charter
Amount
:            One student from the Region will receive $1,000.00 for education

:                March 2, 2012

:            One student will be selected to be honored at the State ACSA Conference representing Region VII

Scholarship Awards

Scholarship awards can be up to $500.00.  Partial scholarships may also be awarded.  Applicants may request additional funding and the amount will be reviewed by the committee.

Application Process

Forms are maintained by the Region President-Elect or the Region consultant. The application should be submitted to the Region President –Elect.

Selection Process

The Scholarship Committee will review the applications to ensure each application is complete and the candidate meets eligibility requirements. Final selections are based on the information provided in the application and the availability of funds. The scholarship committee may review applications by meeting in person or by other means acceptable to the committee.

Scholarship Notification

Applicants will be notified of application status within a month of the date the application was received. Payments will be made directly to ACSA. If the recipient has already submitted the registration fee, ACSA Region VII will reimburse the recipient after confirmation that the recipient is attending/attended the activity.

*Scholarship recipients must register to attend the full conference and must stay at the conference hotel.
