ACSA State and Region Awards Programs

September 7, 2017  |

Each year, State ACSA and Region XIX recognize outstanding performance and achievement by individual administrators, classified managers, confidential employees, community partners, and lay persons.  The 2018 Awards Program has been officially announced by State ACSA.  All members are encouraged to submit nominations.

Beginning this year, ACSA will be using a new online platform for nominations for the Administrator of the Year categories, as well as the special awards including Marcus Foster Award for Administrator Excellence, Ferd. Kiesel Memorial Distinguished Service Award, Partners in Educational Excellence Award, Robert E. Kelly Award, and the Valuing Diversity Award.  Information, tips, resources, and the link to access the nomination platform are available online at the State ACSA website, http://www.acsa.org/awards.

In addition, members have an opportunity to nominate outstanding students for the Every Student Succeeding Awards. The nomination form for Every Student Succeeding can be found on the link above, and paper applications should be submitted to the Region directly, c/o Jennette Harper, 33159 Fairway Drive, Yucaipa, CA 92399 by the January 12 deadline date.

Region XIX also welcomes nominations for the Dr. John Schrom award for given to an administrator who exemplifies selfless service. The award is named after the late Dr. John Schrom, who died suddenly in 2004 after being diagnosed with cancer. John’s legacy to our region was the respect, kindness, and humility that he demonstrated while serving in a variety of administrative positions in four districts in Riverside County. Please access the Dr. John Schrom nomination form here.

When submitting a nomination, you must address the criteria identified to provide a quality and competitive application.

You are encouraged to include supporting information for nominations in all categories. A selection committee, chaired by Region XIX Past President Derrick Lawson, comprised of individuals representing the Region XIX board, charters, and committees/councils will be responsible for reviewing and selecting individual winners in each category.

Region XIX will honor and recognize award recipients at the Spring Celebration to be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Riverside Convention Center. Mark your calendars to attend this exciting event celebrating our award recipients!
