NORTH VENTURA CHARTER ANNOUNCES 2020 STUDENT ESSAY WINNERS

Senior students from all North Ventura Charter high schools were invited to submit an essay based on the prompt:

“How has a teacher, administrator, secretary, custodian or other school  staff member made a positive impact on your life whether at school, in  the community and/or at home?”

The NVC Team coordinating the 2019-20 Student Essay Contest, headed by Tony Gaitan (Retired, Santa Paula USD) reviewed the 22 entries submitted this year. The top 3  NVC Winners all will receive a cash prize to be presented at their senior awards ceremonies.  Congratulations to all of our North Ventura Charter winners:

FIRST PLACE –  $300

Julia Fernandez, Santa Paula High School

SECOND PLACE – $200

Angel Valenzuela, Santa Paula High School

THIRD PLACE – $100

Gabriela Zamora, Santa Paula High School

Julie Fernandez, NVC’s First Place winner, will have her Essay submitted to the Region 13 (Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo) essay review team, along with the First Place winners from the other Region 13 charters.  The top three Region 13 winners will all receive cash awards as well: $500 for First Place, $300, for second place and $200 for third place.
