LGBTQ+ Principal and Assistant Principal Network

Dear School Leader,

As we commemorate Pride Month, we want to thank you for all you do to help create a safe, supportive, and caring learning environment for your LGBTQ+ students and staff. In order to help you continue to be a strong, visionary leader, we want to address your needs as well.

We know that school leadership is challenging work. It can often feel isolating, especially for principals and assistant principals who are LGBTQ+. To help break this unique isolation and provide a platform of mutual support, NASSP is creating a new network of principals and assistant principals. This network is open to all school leaders who identify under the LGBTQ+ spectrum, and we plan to hold our first virtual gathering via a Zoom meeting in July.

If you identify as an LGBTQ+ administrator and would like to learn more, please indicate your interest by completing this confidential form. By signing up, you will receive information about the first virtual event in July as well as other opportunities to help us further develop this supportive network, stay in touch with each other throughout the year, and plan events moving forward. Please also consider forwarding this email to other LGBTQ+ school leaders you know who might be interested in being part of this network.

Please note: This list will not be shared outside of the leaders of the network and the NASSP staff who are spearheading this effort.

As Pride Month 2020 comes to a close, NASSP is proud to support LGBTQ+ school leaders by creating a unique space for professional and personal collaboration. We look forward to connecting with you!

Sincerely,

Dixie Garrison Principal West Jordan Middle School West Jordan, UT She/Her/Hers

Dustin Miller, PhD Clinical Assistant Professor The Ohio State University Columbus, OH He/Him/His

I’d like to join the network!
