In the final hours of April 14th, 1912, the RMS Titanic collided with an iceberg and ‘the unsinkable ship’ slowly sank. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th Century. Based on real people aboard the most legendary ship in the world, Titanic The Musical was a stunning and stirring production focusing on the hopes, dreams and aspirations of her passengers who each boarded with stories and personal ambitions of their own. The original Broadway production of Titanic The Musical won five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score (Maury Yeston; Phantom, Nine) and Best Book (Peter Stone; 1776). REMers attended the musical at the Claremont Candlelight Pavilion on February 16, 2019 and we left both in exhiliration and with that sinking feeling. Plans are underway for another play at the Pavilion during the 2019-20 academic year, so stay tuned, and don’t go off-course!
